What is the difference between compost and mulch?

Compost can be mixed with existing soil to improve it’s soil properties. Mulch is designed to sit of the surface of the soil and retain the soil moisture. Some companies use non-decomposing materials such as ground up rubber tires or glass for their mulch product. Our mulch products are wood based products.

What types of mulch do you carry?

We carry Shredded Hardwood, Cedar Chips and Magic Mulch.

Is your compost weed-free?

Yes our compost made from lactating cow manure, the compost is weed-free and pathogen-free.

How can I tell what nutrients are needed for my soil?

If you are unsure about the quality of your soil, you can perform a soil test. There are several kits that can be purchased as well as Texas A & M offers a service to test your soil. Follow this link Texas Plant & Soil Lab to learn more.

How does a soil amendment work?

A soil amendment is any material added to a soil to improve its physical properties, such as water retention, permeability, water infiltration, drainage, aeration and structure. The goal is to provide a better environment for roots.
